Fill In The Blank Friday

It's Friday!  I am so happy for this!
First off, I have my Internet back (squirrels chewed our outside line), I am pretty sure I had bouts of withdrawal.  Second, this weekend is jam packed with sports!  The Milwaukee Brewers are playing at home for the playoffs Saturday and Sunday, Wisconsin Badgers play, and then of course to top it off, Green Bay Packers play Sunday!

But First...It's time to link up with Lauren for Fill In the Blank Friday!

1.   My current obsession is      redesigning my blog...I am not the one doing it necessarily but I am still obsessing!  .

2.    That there is actually sun outside today    makes me happy.

3.  My greatest strength is   drinking more than the average guy (thank you Germany!) :)   .

4.  _Not being book smart   is my greatest weakness.

5.  My life is doing better. Lately it seems like all the bad stuff has happened at once but I am trying to be optimistic.

6.  In high school I was     in choir, in soccer, and co-captain of the cheerleading squad my senior year   .

7.  When I'm super tired    I don't make any sense when talking..and i actually slur my words  .

It's Ok Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

Today I am linking up for the first time with Amber & Neely for "It's OK" Thursdays.

it's ok

...that i have yet to fold 6 (yes 6!) baskets of laundry

...that my son isn't wearing socks or pants today (it's warm in the house!)

...that my son also brushed his hair with a pen this morning (and yes it left marks)

...that my plans for tonight are just to watch my TV

...that watching the Packers makes me swear..loudly..frequently...in front of my child

...that i am absolutely not wearing ANY makeup today

...that your highlight of your whole week (and probably next week) is getting a new planner in the mail

...that right now, I can't think of anything else to put :)

Excuse the Mess

Like I have mentioned before I am in the process of redesigning my blog...so don't be alarmed by the lack of color. :)  With a toddler I only have time when he is asleep, so I am trying to do this as fast as possible.  Plus I have realized how computer illiterate I am but, I have to give thanks to Kasey.  I have been bugging her with questions and she has made me understand this stuff a bit more.  Also she will be doing a link up on Mondays and whenever I get this blog mess figured out, I will be starting my own!!!

A Letter

Day 19 (F):

A picture and a letter
Well one of my Day Zero projects is to write a love letter to my husband.  So I will do a mini (aka non-embarrassing) letter here.  This is a picture of us at my cousin's wedding.

Dear Gussy/Wally:
We have been together for a total of 11 years...and they haven't always been easy.  The day I thought you were going to propose I told you 'don't do it'.  But you did it anyways...and I found myself saying yes.  Well that was one of the best decisions ever.  We still have our problems but I think we still have a healthy and happy relationship.  Don't get me wrong...you drive my crazy!  But only you can get away with it.  You have given me Mason...the best gift ever.  I hope as we spend the rest of our lives together we continue to be us.  The couple who bickers every day...but hardly ever fights.  Where I can tell you how I feel and not keep it bottled inside.  I just hope we will always be happy and stay together...no matter what we have to face...because you are the one for me.  The only one.
Love,
Miranda

G - your favorite Bible verse

Proverbs 10:19

When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

P - What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?

Well Since I already posted my favorite Bible verse, I will go with religion.  I am not overly religious.  I believe in God, Jesus, and I am a Christian.  However growing up Catholic I never felt like I belonged.  I would really like to find a church (one of my Day Zero goals) that I can take my son to.  I suppose what I think about religion...is everyone can do what they want.  I support most religions (except those ones who may teach hate and be hurtful) and if someone is an atheist, that is their choice.  I don't feel the same way but I'm not going to try make them believe something they don't want to.  That's all I'll say on the subject...it is a touchy one...even me who is still finding their way in religion.

So Excited...

I did it....I ordered an Erin Condren planner!  I have been wanting one for a while now so I am very giddy *nerd*.  It is expensive but I am getting it as an early Christmas gift from my mother-in-law.  I am the person who constantly has a planner and is writing things down, so I know it will be worth it!  Of course I will show it off when I get it but here is the one I am getting.  I really like it because I got to personalize the favorites on the cover. (of course it will be my name though)

Resuming the 30DC

Day 18 -

G: something you crave a lot -  SALT!  I do not have a sweet tooth...I have (as my husband told me) a salt tooth.  I love fries, fries, and fries (did I already mention them?) It's bad...but I guess it's good in a way because I hardly ever eat chocolate, cake, candy, or pie.

P: your views on gay marriage - I fully support it.  I don't see how it will change anything?  There is already a high divorce rate of straight people...but yet gay people getting married will ruin the institution of marriage?  I kind of understand the religious stand point but I always think "separation of church and state" ...they should still have rights.  Just think...women didn't used to be able to vote or African Americans...but the world has changed and eventually I think it will legal everywhere.  I respect people's opinions who are against it but that doesn't mean someone can't be happy and be with the person they love.

F: a picture of your biggest insecurity - um yeah right...I'm sorry I am not ready to post the picture but I can tell you :)  I would say just self-image...I am not quite comfortable with myself or my body.  Especially after having a baby. I know I will never be super skinny like I was in high school (thanks to sports) but, I know I can be more healthy.  No more smoking (still ashamed to admit I do it), less drinking, less salt/sodium, fried things, carbs...I am ready to start being more healthy and hopefully that will make me appreciate what I see in the mirror.

Antiques

So I am back from my trip, where I hit 7 states in 6 days! (most were driving through but I still think it counts)  We went with my parents and since I grew up going with my dad to antique stores and such, I have grown to love it...my husband, not so much.  But we still managed to hit a few big ones in Springfield, Missouri.  So I took a few pictures of the good, the bad, and the just freaken weird.  (Note: I used my blackberry so the pictures aren't of the best quality)

These bears (the exact kind) were on a shelf in my room when I was little.

This thing just freaked me out.

Don't know if this is actually an antique...doesn't look like it, but it is cute. (fyi - it's a chair)

The Osmond's thermos...oh the memories of lunch boxes.
I think it would be really cool to have all different colors of dishes.
Someone must really love corn.
A sad looking Pluto toy.
Pretty sure this rabbit will give my nightmares.
I'm really into owls lately...so cute.
I'm sorry but I find this Barbie really skanky...she is wearing a garter belt!
More Owls :)
I just found this funny...bear figurines doing aerobics!
This was a cool looking photo album...it was $250!!! No, thanks.

This also absolutely freaks me out...the fact that they are tied together with a rubber band makes it worse...it looks like the grandpa died from it!
Brooke Shields had her own Barbie!
I think this duck is pretty adorable!
Betty Boop garden tools...interesting...
A very patriotic chicken
.

And finally...what we bought for Mason...5 bucks. (and it still works)

Go Pack Go!

I've got my little Packer boy all ready!  (His jersey is 24 months so that is why it is so big...but that way it will fit next year too - they aren't cheap ya know!)

Hoping the Packers beat the Bears (yuck!) and also a big 'ol congrats to the Milwaukee Brewers!  They clinched the division and are definitely in the playoffs!  (They haven't won the division for 29 years!) But I am bit sad the baseball season is almost over...one of our best players Prince Fielder probably won't be back next season (Brewers can't afford him).

Blog Award!

I got my very first blog award!  It was the iDig Your Blog Award and I got it from my friend Kasey!

I am a new blogger and I do happen to know Kasey from High School (so that helped) but I am glad to get some type of recognition...

So the rules of receiving this award:

1. Thank the blogger who gave me this award

So many thanks Kasey!  You made my day!

2. Tell 3 random facts about yourself:

(1) I have met/seen some famous people (which I plan to blog about in the future)...I went to a taping of "The Jay Leno Show" and "That 70's Show" where we got to meet and get autographs from all the stars.  Plus I have met Benji Madden (from Good Charlotte), Jim Gaffigan (we were going to see his show and he was buying coffee), Lee Greenwood ("God Bless The USA" singer), and some others...

(2) My first job lasted for 7 years as a employee (then manager) at McDonald's...then was a lifeguard for 3 years then worked at a Pet Store for 5 years...I always have never had a job that has lasted for less than 3 years.

(3)  My entire family (mine and my husband's) went from 5 nieces/nephews to 10 in a year.  My 2 sisters had kids, then another had twins, and then I had my son.  (Now I have twins on my side, my dad's side, my husband's side (times 2)...I am afraid I may be next *ahhhhh*

3.  Give the award to 5 others. Some of these are new to blogging and others have been at it for a while, but I still enjoy them.

Well again I am excited to have been given my first blog award and hope you enjoy the ones I like too!

My Story Made It!

So I had an experience of mine told over on babble (a pregnancy/parent website)!  Lauren from 'the little things we do' writes a column there and this one was "Embarrassing Pregnancy Moments"...I think it's pretty obvious which one is mine but they are anonymous.  So anyways...I thought it was exciting! :)

A Mini Break

So I am off on my vacation...I have some scheduled posts but I will be taking a break on my !30 Day Bonanza! posts.  Also when I come back I plan to do a complete Blog redo. I have realized that my header gets cut off, and I feel like my posts are too skinny. Now that I am becoming more knowledgeable (just a little), I hope to make it better looking as well.  Plus I have an idea for a link up.  I don't have too many followers yet so maybe this will help, and find some great new blogs along the way!

Also, since it will be after vacation (where you get to indulge) I'm starting the 'healthy me'.  One of the 101 things I want to accomplish for my Day Zero Project is that I want to lose 40 lbs (waaaayy post-baby weight).  So I will be talking about progress and what I am up to.  I am NOT  runner but I want to get there.

Day Seventeen

G - something you're looking forward to...my vacation coming up (heard about here).  We will be going to a Kansas City Royals game, going to Branson and then on the way back, stopping through St. Louis!

P - A book you've read that changed your views on something.. I actually answered this question in the post about  'Heaven is for Real' by Todd Burpo...I recommend you read it (my post and the book!)

F - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently...I consider recently within a span of 5 years (I may be cheating just a little) but 4 years ago I studied abroad.  I lived in Wittenberg, Germany (pictured below) for 4 months with a Host Mom.  Some of you may have heard of Wittenberg.  Is the home of Martin Luther and where the Thesis was nailed to the church door.  I can explain more about him but to tell you the truth I only know it in German and it is hard to remember the English words for it.  Anyways living here changed my life.  It was difficult because 7 months prior I had gotten married.  But I have always been a co-dependent person and this gave me the chance to really figure things out on my own.  If you ever get the chance to study abroad...DO IT!!!  I was terrified and almost didn't go but it was worth it.  I have memories to last a lifetime, (even though I have forgotten some of my German...when you don't use it everyday it slips quickly).

Fill In The Blank Friday

Time to Fill it in with Lauren at 'the little things we do'

1.   You should always take time to     spend time with family...even if you are really busy  .

2.    Fall TV       make(s) the world a happier place to be.

3.  I can hardly wait for   Halloween   .

4.    Sunday   is my favorite day of the week.

5.  Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is    Elmo's World...I have gotten used to it .

6.  If I could, I would   hire someone to come clean my house twice a week...oh to have that kind of money    .

7.  I rather like    eating leftover pizza at 9am  .

Addicted to TV

Fall TV is upon us and like a few other bloggers I am sharing what I will be watching.  I am checking out a few new shows (in orange) but I am kind of picky about what I watch so I may drop some...or they will get cancelled.  I realize that I will be watching A LOT of shows (I have 2 DVRs!) and it looks like a lot of TV...but I don't feel like I sit in front of the TV a lot.  It's usually after Mason is in bed and I can fast forward through commercials to make it faster!  So here is my crazy TV schedule for the fall!

7pm - House Hunters
7:30pm - House Hunters International

Hope Solo and the hottest guy on DWTS (Maksim)

Already caught the premiere and it was pretty good

Thursday

8pm - The Office
8:30pm - Whitney

Wasn't the biggest fan of season 1 but now it is one of my faves! so funny!

Saturday
10:30pm - Saturday Night Live!

Sunday
7pm - Amazing Race

(Football throughout the day)
I'm curious about this...I miss 'Mad Men' like crazy so I'm hoping this will fill the gap.

There are also some randoms I watch like 'Sarah's House' or 'Sarah 101' on HGTV.  Also I do watch/skim 'Days of our Lives' (I am a bit ashamed by that).  Then there is 'Jeopardy', 'Jay Leno', 'Ellen', 'Dateline', '48 Hours', 'Intervention', and '30 Rock'... whenever it decides to return!

I'm sure I will be back with Midseason shows as well....some I already watch like 'Pretty Little Liars', 'The Bachelor', 'Rizzoli and Isles', 'Design Star', 'Mad Men', 'Cougar Town', 'Melissa & Joey', and 'Hot in Cleveland'.  Plus there are a few new shows to check out as well.

...See what I mean? Crazy about TV!

Everybody Hurts (Day 16)

G - A song that makes you cry -  I tried to post the video but YouTube wouldn't let me, so here is the link.   Everybody Hurts by REM always makes me cry.  And not necessarily always in a sad way. It is just a beautiful song.

P - Someone or something you definitely you could live without - I can't stand David Letterman.  I know some people may think he is funny but I am a Jay Leno fan for life. I actually went to a taping of his show in 2005.  I just find him so much more funny and real.

F - A picture of someone who inspires you...someone who greatly inspires me is my BFF Candis' mom Janet.  In the past 2 years she has battled breast cancer.  Just the way she handled herself through it all really inspires me.  When she first got it I remember Candis being upset but being reminded from people that her mom is strong.  And today...cancer free. Her attitude through chemo and her surgeries were inspirational.  She was open about talking about it and even though I know she had sick and nauseated days she was a trooper.  She is the kind of person who through all the problems...money, cancer, etc...remembers that fun and family are most important.

 During Chemo

Cancer free - All of us hanging out after we won some money in a bar machine :)

A House, A Drink, A Dolphin (Day 15)

G - your dream house - So this isn't necessarily my dream home but the concept is.  I want to live on the east coast and have an oceanfront home.  I'm thinking a personal beach.  I wouldn't turn down a west coast oceanfront home but I like the appeal of seasons.  I would love the winter and still being able to see the ocean.  Of course I would love a large home but I don't need a mansion.  I think people who live in 10 bedroom 15 bathroom homes are crazy...unless you have the people to fill it.  I don't like the thought of being in the home on one side and not hearing/knowing what it is going on on the other side.

P -  Something or someone you couldn't live without, because you've tried living without it - so to go out of the box a little bit I'm going to chose alcohol.  I'm not saying binge drinking or getting drunk all the time, but I have gone 10 months without alcohol when I was pregnant.  I missed it.  I missed having a beer in the summer or watching football.  I missed a glass of wine after a stressful day.  I didn't get champagne on New Years.  Of course it was worth it and I will do it again when I have another baby but it's not something I enjoy.

F - A picture of something you want to do before you die -  one of the biggest things on my bucket list is to swim with dolphins.  It is crazy expensive but I think it would be worth it!  Just being able to touch them and play with them...sounds like so much fun!

Getting Sad...

So after today I only have two full days until I go on vacation.  Saturday at 5 am Guss, my parents, and I are driving to Missouri.  The bad news - Mason isn't coming with.  I am ok with leaving him for a few hours during the day or at night when he is sleeping...and I have been away for 2 nights before.  But this will be 5 nights!  And I am kind of freaking out.  I don't like the thought of not seeing him for that long...and being only 17 months old it's not like I can call him on the phone.  But thank goodness for Skype!  So I am going to leave you with a video of Mason's favorite thing...Sesame Street.  It is a song by will.i.am and it is pretty cute and catchy.  Will.i.am doesn't seem too into it but I still like it.

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Linking up again with Michelle over at the Vintage Apple!

1. I just love this blue and I want this as wallpaper in a bathroom or an accent wall in a bedroom.

2. I want to frame this and put this on my wall!

3. I would love to have this ring.

4. I love the colors...

5. You will constantly hear me say I love grey and I love sweaters/cardigans.

6. I think this is just too funny...do you think anyone actually owns one?
